New Indoor Playground at Northbrook Court

Thank goodness for online shopping. I mean, do you know how hard it is to shop when you bring your kids along? They either manage the worst blow out you have ever seen, throw a tantrum when you won’t buy them something, or simply complain the ENTIRE time that it zaps all the joy out of shopping. You don’t need that type of negativity in your life, mama. But what you DO need is a free, clean play space for kids to run around that ups your chances of actually being able to shop in peace with kids in tow. What is this magical place? The brand new indoor playground at Northbrook Court!

Designed by the Chicago Children’s Museum and sponsored by Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, it is the perfect place for your kids to play, create, explore, and learn either before or after a quick shopping trip.

Located on the second floor adjacent to Noggin Builders and overlooking our favorite play treehouse, the new indoor playground at Northbrook Court is the perfect place for babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and even kindergarteners.

When we explored the new indoor play space, there were about fifteen families present but it didn’t feel crowded at all. Why? Because of the fantastic layout, with climbing structures in the back and smaller alcoves for reading and puppet shows up front.

Even the smallest shoppers can enjoy their own safe and creative place to play without all of the big kids racing by and ruining their fun.

Nursing parents get priority seating on the comfy couches, and there are also designated snack stations so that the play space stays clean for as long as possible.

The best part about the indoor playground at Northbrook Court is that not only can it serve as bribery either before or after you stop at a few stores with your kiddos, or you can simply come on in for free play any day you are consumed with cabin fever and instead shop family friendly retailers like Gap, Janie and Jack, Gymboree, and Build-A-Bear online from the comfort of your own home.

Have fun playing…and hopefully shopping!

Saw a woman clipping her child’s nails on one of th me couches. Just let it all fall all over the couch. So gross. They need someone to monitor the area.
