The holidays are all about traditions. I mean, Christmas Eve isn’t complete if my family doesn’t break Oplatki before our meal and we can’t ring in the New Year without wearing our pajamas and watching “Home Alone” by the fire. So what to do when your holiday traditions don’t match up perfectly to the traditions of your loved ones? You blend them! That’s what my husband and I did when we got married over seven years ago. He brought his Jewish traditions and I brought my Catholic traditions to make the holidays even more magical…and our kids absolutely love all of the celebrations! Are you an interfaith family, too? Or simply a family that wants to expose your children to different traditions and religions? Well, no matter your situation, you must check out these well loved Interfaith Holiday Books.
What better way to show how Interfaith families are created?
We just love that this book points out how both Hanukkah and Christmas are bright spots of cheer during what can be a long and dreary winter season.
Such a fun story featuring my favorite part about Hanukkah–the delicious latkes!
The perfect book to read before you begin to deck the halls in your home.
Reindeer of all different religions come together to help deliver gifts on Christmas Eve.
A wonderful story to show that everyone can celebrate the holidays together.
Oh, and if you are into all of the Elf on the Shelf craziness, don’t forget to add a Mensch on the Bench to your mantle! My kids just love seeing how these two friends cause trouble when everyone is sleeping at night.
