Urban Photo Shoot Locations in Chicago

Urban Photo Shoot Locations in Chicago - www.queenofthelandoftwigsnberries.com

People are always asking me for suggestions on where to make family photos…and in Chicagoland, the options are endless!  Thankfully I know some great photographers like Thomas and Tiana from TK Photography who have helped me to narrow down some urban photo shoot locations in Chicago that will not only be the perfect place to take your family photo, but also showcase your love for the absolute best city in the world.

This post is sponsored by TK Photography.  All opinions are my own.

Greetings from Chicago

Nothing says Chicago like sending a photo filled with the Greetings from Chicago wall mural located at the intersection of Milwaukee Avenue and Prindiville Street. Stay tuned next week to see the colorful photos Thomas of TK Photography took of us standing in front of the artistic collaboration between Victor Ving and Lisa Beggs.

Museum Campus

If you have read The “Devil in the White City,” you know that so many of the gorgeous buildings on Chicago’s Museum Campus played such a pivotal role in showcasing the beauty and power of Chicago.  So why not use these beautiful pieces of architecture as a backdrop for your own photo shoot?  My personal favorite spot? The Field Museum stairs (It also serves as a great spot to scarf down a hot dog before heading to a Bears game, too!).

Ed Pashke Art Center

One of our favorite places to enjoy colorful and thoughtful artwork is the Ed Pashke Art Center.  And just as beautiful as the artwork inside is the artwork OUTSIDE. There is some spectacular wall art with wonderfully contrasting art, including some unique and interactive sculptures that kids love to explore.

Under the El

Although it can be a bit stinky and loud, there is nothing as quintessential to Chicago as the El.  I mean, it is how we get around from amazing place to amazing place. To capture a great urban spot that features cool shadows and lighting, take some pictures under the El.  Thomas of TK Photography took some of us and the results are clearly stunning.

The Bean

I mean, it just doesn’t get more Chicago than Millennium Park, does it?  And I absolutely love taking pictures in front of The Bean. Although some may disagree, I love that you can’t really got a good shot without people in the background, which just gives any photos you take a more “city” vibe, don’t you think?

Love Wall Mural

I mean, what word best characterizes your family than LOVE?  Matthew Hoffman is the King (and no, I am unfortunately not his Queen) of wall art in Chicago, and his messages of love are spread throughout the city.  My absolute favorite wall art of his is on Damen near Cortland.

I love the idea of using the well-known landmarks of any town as a backdrop for photos. They just look so much more real, and for the subjects, they probably bring to mind a ton of wonderful memories. Great shots, btw!

We have so many photos that are simple park and beach photos so this time around we wanted something that really screamed CHICAGO!

Photographers do know the best places for photos. My daughter had her engagement shoot this past week in Charlotte and the photographer knew all the cool places. If I’m ever in Chicago, I’d love to drop by a few of these fab places.

I think the photoshoot not only captures those precious moments but it also is a great way to document the different places in Chicago. It’s fun to shoot in the different attractions.
