Time Saving Tips for Moms + a Jord Wooden Watch Giveaway

If there is anything we moms need to make our lives easier, it is more time in our day. With just a couple more hours, that load of laundry could finally be folded and put away, we could try out that complicated recipe from “The Barefoot Contessa,” and we could actually have some time to ourselves. Sigh. But here’s the thing…not all hope is lost! There are actually some very practical and easy ways to streamline your day, dear mamas. Don’t believe me? I dare you to try any of these time saving tips for moms and tell me that they didn’t add a little bit of wiggle room into your day. And for those of you willing to take the challenge, I have a awesome Jord Wooden Watches giveaway for you, too!

Every Sunday while in the car with my family or over a lazy breakfast, I chat with my boys and we come up with a meal plan for the week. It takes about fifteen minutes max and it is one of the best ways to ease my stress about the upcoming week and make my trip to the grocery store less daunting. Oh, and don’t forget to utilize your slow cooker as much as possible and welcome healthy grocery store shortcuts, like those delicious rotisserie chickens that someone else slaved over.

I am a control freak. Seriously. It drives me nuts when someone loads the dish washer incorrectly or puts laundry back in the wrong place. But you know what I’ve realized? All of that stress leads to NOWHERE. So that’s why I’ve learned to delegate. Every night my husband loads the dishwasher (I’ve finally gotten used to his loading style) and packs school lunches and I’ve never been happier. Let it go and you will love it. I promise.

It is totally and utterly overwhelming to be a mom, especially one who runs her own business like I do. That’s why I’ve realized that I need to have a schedule…and actually stick to it. Not only does it help me focus my week and/or day, but my kids also know what to anticipate. For example, Mondays we tend to stick close to home since we are recovering from the weekend. Wednesdays are our weekly trip to the library, and Fridays are our days for going out and exploring.

Seriously. You can do it in your pajamas with a glass of wine in hand and your favorite TV show playing in the background. Even better? You are much less likely to indulge in impulse purchases, no matter how much wine you have consumed.

You know how they say “It takes a village to raise a child?” Well, I think they might be referring to the beauty of carpooling and play dates. Find cool parents of nice kids and help each other out any way that you can. We have a standing play date with some friends from school, have baby/kid gear swaps, alternate babysitting for date nights…and we have made some amazing friends throughout the process.

The phone is such a total and utter time suck (unless of course you are reading my blog…obviously!). That’s why I have started wearing a watch. Not only am I less distracted, but I also have a beautiful fashion statement and unique watch that makes me feel fancy and stylish even when I am rocking day old yoga pants.

It’s really pretty straightforward. You work hard, mama. Take some time for yourself. Read a book, go out with the girls…whatever sets your heart on fire. Put your partner on kid duty, hire a babysitter, invite a grandparent over…do whatever you can to treat yourself.

Are you in the market for a new watch? Then you have to take a closer look at my gorgeous and cool Jord Wood Watch. I have the Frankie Zebrawood and Navy watch and I feel like it perfectly suits my life not just as a mom, but also has a business owner. I just love the unique blue face that serves as a badge of “boy mom” honor, and how it is such a simple and straightforward time piece that I can wear it at the park while chasing my kids or in a board room meeting. It is that versatile, and exactly the unique kind of fashion statement that we busy moms need…whether you prefer to live in yoga pants or stilettos. Prefer a different style of watch?
