Summertime means something decadently delicious in our house: s’mores. But here’s the thing….I can only eat the same thing so many times (even though the basic s’more is yummy!). That’s why I have come up with these ways to create some spiced up s’mores. Read on for my family friendly hacks and shortcuts, as well as some unique ways to make s’mores even more delish.
As all parents know, fire and kids just don’t mix. That’s why I use my grill a TON when making s’mores. Just make sure that you have some aluminum foil handy in order to keep things as neat as possible. I know…marshmallows not getting messy…I promise I’m not crazy!
Some of my favorite supplies to have on hand to make s’mores even easier:
Fudge Stripe Cookies (they combine the delicious chocolate and graham cracker taste in one simple cookie)
Marshmallow fluff (since some kids can get a little temperamental about how brown or black their toasted marshmallows get)
Ice cream cones. Yep, you can contain a TON of s’more mess but putting all of the goodies inside an ice cream cone and wrapping it in foil. Amazing.
Chocolate fudge/syrup. Not patient enough for chocolate to melt on the grill? Then use either of these products to indulge your chocolate loving sweet tooth.
Some special ingredients to make a unique s’more:
Mini peanut butter cups (the dark chocolate ones from Trader Joe’s are fantastic)
Nutella
Cookie butter
Mini donuts (chocolate frosted, of course)
Sprinkles
Our favorite Spiced up S’mores recipes:
Donut S’more: Heat up a marshmallow and plop it on top of your favorite type of mini donut (chocolate for me). Top with some sprinkles and enjoy!
Banana Boat S’more: Cut into a banana and stuff it with s’more goodness (small pieces of chocolate, small pieces of marshmallows, small pieces of graham crackers). Wrap the banana in foil and place it on the grill until it melts—for us, it was about seven minutes.
Cookie Butter Raspberry S’more: Spread some cookie butter on a graham cracker, add two small pieces of chocolate and a marshmallow. Wrap in foil and place it on the grill until melted—about four minutes. Unwrap and top with fresh raspberries.
Nut Lover S’more: Spread Nutella or other hazelnut spread on a graham cracker, add two small pieces of chocolate and a marshmallow. Wrap in foil and place it on the grill until melted—about four minutes. While it is cooking, place some orange slices on the grill and let them get browned—about seven minutes. Top the s’more with the toasted oranges and some crushed nuts.

My kids would LOVE these. I am definitely going to make these for them. They will be a huge hit.
Or you can teach them how to prepare them for you. Sit back and relax, mama!
What fun way to fix smores. I need to get more creative and try some of these for the kids. Now I wish I had some hershey’s chocolate.
