One of the worst things about the holidays is all of the errands you have to run in order to get all of the things you need to decorate for Christmas, not to mention the gifts for family and friends, as well as tracking down the other “extras” that make the holiday season so special. But if you are a Chicagoan, you are in luck because there is a one stop shop that is worth the trek, no matter if you live in the city or the suburbs. Pasquesi Home and Gardens in Lake Bluff is the Ultimate Holiday Headquarters where you can take a breath, enjoy some complimentary coffee, and find everything you need on your Christmas “to-do” list.

CHRISTMAS HOME DECOR
First off, let’s talk about how to decorate your home for the holidays. While I prefer simple decor most of the year, I believe the holidays are special and require a “magic touch.” I mean, doesn’t your home become even cozier with an extra throw pillow or another string of twinkly lights? I sure think so. And that’s where Pasquesi Home and Gardens comes in.
Their perfectly curated shop is organized by sections so that you can admire the Christmas displays set up by the talented staff and then shop all of the items within the Christmas displays on adjacent shelving. This type of organization makes shopping for every room in your home so incredibly easy, whether you prefer rustic Christmas decor or like to add glitter and pizzazz at this time of year. Luckily for all of us, Pasquesi’s has it all.
You can be rest assured that the Christmas decor items offered at Pasquesi Home and Gardens are handcrafted either locally or within the United States, not simply imports from a foreign assembly line. The beautiful holiday pieces offered, whether ornaments, platters, or pillows, are items that you won’t find elsewhere—not even at Pasquesi’s during the next holiday season. So if you find something that you like, act fast before it is gone.
As the name suggests, Pasquesi’s is also a garden store. While it bursts with colors and blooms during the Spring, Summer, and Fall, it is also boasts some of the absolute BEST Christmas trees, planters, wreaths, and garlands in the Midwest.
If you are looking for a Christmas tree, you will undoubtedly love the way Pasquesi Home and Gardens displays their trees. Each tree is hung from the ceiling so that you can have a complete 360 degree view of the Fraser Fir (the only type they carry and shipped from North Carolina) before committing to a purchase. Then all you have to do is take the tag for the cashier, pull up your car, and the Pasquesi staff gives your tree a fresh cut and attaches the tree to your car for you. I like to think of them as Santa’s elves.
Pasquesi’s has a very wide variety of planters and wreaths, but will also customize pieces if you are hoping for a certain collection of greenery or accents in your Christmas greens. You can also put together your own display by shopping the options of free standing greens. My favorite are the magnolia branches, which made the perfect accent for the pots in front of my home. Undecided? You can never go wrong with poinsettias.
Have a “To Buy For” list rivals Santa’s? Don’t worry because Pasquesi Home and Gardens has something for everyone. My husband is usually the hardest person to buy for on my list, and I found him some great beer accessories as well as one of a kind Cubs memorabilia.
Have trouble with teacher gifts? There are so many wonderful options throughout Pasquesi’s. Whether you choose gourmet treats, the uber popular Frasier Fir candle (I am utterly convinced it smells like the North Pole), or the iconic Christmas bird, you cannot go wrong.
You can even cross kids off your list thanks to the expansive toy and book section at Pasquesi’s. During my visit, I was impressed with the high quality toy options, from Djeco puzzles to Kid Made Modern art kits. There are also plenty of stocking stuffers (did someone say slime?) and beautiful holiday books to read leading up to the big day.
Lastly, don’t overlook the hostess gift options, which range from serving platters to hand soaps and glass blown ornaments. The price points vary, so you can find the perfect gift whether you are staying for the weekend at a friend’s home or simply attending an Ugly Sweater party.
I have no doubt that Pasquesi’s Home and Gardens, my favorite holiday headquarters, will help you save time and stress this holiday season so you can spend more time conquering your Christmas in Chicago Bucket List!
