Grab a pumpkin spice latte, huddle under a cable knit blanket and dig in to the most controversial post I will ever write. Are you ready?
No, I’m not talking politics (but I’m sure you all know what side I am on), nor am I talking about vaccinations or breastfeeding. My hot topic? Fall photos.
I mean, that has been the most searched for topic on my blog for the last three weeks so I thought I would do my 25K followers a favor and share my family’s favorite photographers who are offering Fall family photo sessions. Why is this post so controversial? Because there are SO MANY talented photographers in Chicagoland and EVERYONE seems to have a different preference for their favorite style of photography.
So, without any further adieu, here is my non-sponsored, “totally a surprise to the artist” article about my family’s favorite photographers.
Why we love Lindsay: As a mom of three boys, Lindsay knows how to go with the flow and get even the grumpiest little boys to lighten up, relax, and have fun in front of the camera. She edits photos with a deft hand, playing with shadows and giving each and every shot a cozy, heartwarming feel. Lindsay is also incredibly helpful with helping you coordinate outfits and creating a rustic style photo session that is perfect for Fall. Lindsay’s Fall Mini-Sessions fill VERY quickly, so be sure to follow her FB page to get the most updated info.
Why we love Lori: Do you feel awkward every time you are in front of a camera? Then go see Lori. Not only will she help your entire family relax with her warm and inviting personality, but she will also help you pose in a way that makes you feel relaxed and confident, something that many of us moms struggle with. Lori’s studio shares a space with Aubergine Chicago or you can meet her on location—we loved using her convenient space because we didn’t have to worry about the weather dampening our photo shoot plans! You can learn all about her Fall and Holiday mini-sessions here.
Why we love Amy: We have two little boys who are VERY hard to keep up with but Amy was able to not only have them giggling, but she was also able to capture perfect moments from the laughing fests. If you are looking for a lifestyle photographer for your family (as opposed to staged photos), Amy will do a great job of snapping candid shots that let your children’s personalities shine. You can book one of Amy’s October mini-sessions here.
Why we love Kristen: Kristen is all about the details and I adore her for it. Last year Lisa worked with different local artisans to create a stunning, rustic holiday photo shoot for families that included a big red barn, the type of pick up truck that dreams are made of, and tons of handmade goods and décor to create a festive holiday vibe—even if it was still 80 degrees. We have done multiple photo shoots with her and are always over the moon with the family portraits she creates because no details are overlooked. You can learn all about her Fall mini-sessions here.
We have worked with tons of photographers over the years, but these four ladies really stand out and I’m so happy to have their beautiful work adorn the walls of our home. Is there a photographer who I missed? Then leave your suggestions in the comments!
