North School Park Family Friendly Activities

Located in the heart of downtown Arlington Heights, North School Park is a beautiful park that hosts tons of family friendly activities all year long.  Its picturesque details and easy accessibility by car or train makes it a great place to make some wonderful family memories.

North School Park has a few major components:  the kids’ park, water fountain, outdoor theater and open lawn area.

We love the kids park because it is perfect for the under five set and has a foam flooring that provides an extra layer of protection from skinned knees, as well as sun shades to keep the elements at bay.

There is also a sand box, but to be honest we tend to stay away from it since it doesn’t get covered at night and there aren’t any stationary sand toys.

The park is perfect for having a picnic because of the beautiful, shady spots for laying down a blanket and simply watching the clouds float by.

During the summer, there are kids concerts every Tuesday at 11:30 am, the perfect way to have a musical picnic with friends.  There are also evening concerts more catered towards adults held throughout the summer.

We love frolicking through the park during the winter since they have an extremely impressive light display.

Love a crisp fall day – and love city parks. That is one of the things I miss about not living in Louisville (KY) anymore. Thanks for sharing pictures of your wonderful outing. #write31days
