Mocktails for Moms

One of my least favorite things about being pregnant were the dietary restrictions.  Especially when I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes with my second child.  But I figured out ways around the food rules, especially when it came to treating myself to a mocktail.

So in honor of my favorite mamas-to-be, here is my collection of tried and true mocktails.  They are variations of some of the most popular cocktails with a few substituted ingredients.

Oh, and let me be the first to introduce you to the keys to a delicious mocktail:  grenadine, ginger beer, and simple syrup.

To make simple syrup, all you need is two parts sugar and one part water.  Bring the water to a boil and slowly stir in sugar until it dissolves.  Let it cool and thicken before using it in any drink (mocktail or cocktail).

Cheers, mamas!

I’m not pregnant right now, but all of these still look absolutely delicious! I rarely drink, and if I do it is a glass of wine, so these mocktails look like an awesome option to make at our next dinner party for my fellow non-drinkers 🙂 Thanks so much!

These look great! What brand of ginger beer do you use?

My favorite mocktail is a fuzzy navel! I combine equal parts of orange juice and peach flavored carbonated water (I get it at walmart) with a squeeze of lime. So good!

I love a good sangria it’s the only thing I can make so I make it a lot. I am going to be trying these this summer though so I can chill out in my backyard with my drink alone and have me time.

I don’t know anyone who doesn’t love a great sangria. If I do, I will unfriend them immediately.

Yes. This is awesome. Thank you. I don’t drink at all. So this really is a post for me. I posted a bevy for moms that drink last week but this is something I would rather. Mocktails are my thing! I will have to try some!

FABULOUS recipes for anyone, not just preggos! But the names are amazing, and so creative! I’m pinning this recipe, because everyone can use a good mocktail recipe (or five) and all of these sound so delicious!

These are great! I’m not pregnant but I don’t like alcohol, so mocktails are perfect for me. I love the names you came up with, though – the “Cry it Out Cosmo” is probably my favorite, it made me laugh out loud! I do have a couple of friends who are pregnant and I’ll definitely pass these their way, too.

I’m going to try your Cosmo recipe for my stepson, who is always asking me to make him mocktails to enjoy during Saturday’s cocktail hour. Great recipes, thanks for posting!

Thank goodness I’ve never been pregnant, I don’t think I’d survive it 😉

It was the loooooongest nine months without a cocktail for me. The cosmo is so good…my teen sister has always loved it!

I like cranberry anything so I’m going to go with the Cry Out Cosmo here as being my fave. I wish we had some now in the ‘fridge. Your pictures have got me jonesing for something with a lot of ice!

I don’t drink so this collection is great for me! I am excited to try some of these recipes now that the weather is turning nice and hot. I will be honest and say I have no idea what grenadine is, though!

Hahahaha loving the names of these mocktails, I have never been pregnant before and currently not so ordinary cocktails are still my friends but the moctkails here are making them run for their money. Thanks for sharing the recipes.

My pregnant sister keeps ordering kiddie cocktails when we go out and I can’t help but chuckle every time she orders one.
