Healthy Summer Popsicles + a Salad Power GIVEAWAY

Summer is on the horizon and I literally CANNOT wait! My boys and I are looking forward to having a more relaxed schedule, spending hours outside, and exploring everything Chicagoland has to offer. We will undoubtedly be hitting up our favorite ice cream shops and enjoying lots of s’mores in the backyard, but this summer I am also making a conscious effort to ensure my boys are having healthy treats that keep them going all summer long. And the easiest way to do that is through my Salad Power Smoothie Pops. I mean, a summer filled with healthy popsicles that only take a minute or two to make? YES PLEASE!

This post is sponsored by Salad Power. All opinions are my own.

If you haven’t heard of Salad Power before, it is a juice that features a superfood veggie blend with less sugar and more nutrients than other popular “juice” brands. The first ingredient in all of the Salad Power flavors are veggies, which makes Salad Power a great way to enjoy your daily servings of veggies—even on the go!  Salad Power is 100% Gluten Free, Vegan, Paleo and is Non-GMO verified so you can be sure of everything that is going into your body to help you lead a fit and healthy lifestyle. I love how there is zero prep work, all I have to do is chill the juice overnight and it is ready to enjoy. Take that, expensive and hard to clean juicer.

What does all of this mean for busy moms like me? It means that not only is Salad Power a great option for us moms who tend to simply graze over our children’s meals instead of making ourselves a healthy and complete meal, but it is also a great way to incorporate veggies into your children’s diet. How? Well, by getting creative and focusing on what they like, of course! My tried and true summer recipe: Salad Power Smoothie Pops.

SALAD POWER SMOOTHIE POPS

Ingredients

One Salad Power Veggies + Pineapple Juice

1 banana

½ cup sugar free apple sauce

¼ cup ice

Blend all ingredients together until smooth. Pour into popsicle molds. Chilll 3-5 hours or until frozen and enjoy!

Since Salad Power has so many unique flavors (just veggies, in addition to pineapple, apple, and mango varieties), the options for healthy popsicles this summer are endless! I’m contemplating making a new popsicle batch featuring strawberries since my kids are currently on a berry kick!

My kids LOVE Popsicle, but I hate how much sugar is in them! Its such a waste of empty calories! I love the idea of using Salad power juice as the base of your Popsicle. It is a great way to sneak veggies into your kids diet.

Our kids like peas in their macaroni and cheese, so that would be one of their favorites. The overall favorite would have to be the potato. Potatoes can be eaten so many ways, from mashed potatoes, to french fries and chips, that we eat them in some form at least once a week.

That’s so innovative and a fun way to get them to eat fruits and veggies! Out family loves carrots. We just recently discovered how to make carrot spaghetti using a spiraler.

Brilliant! For some reason I have always hated eating breakfast first thing in the morning but like to keep my energy up (I do not drink coffee or tea) so for me I like to grab a smoothie or power bar something quick and portable that isn’t heavy, this is so perfect for the upcoming summer months to tide me over until I get to work!

This is a great way to keep cool and nutritious at the same time. I probably need to have these more than my kids. This is something the kids would enjoy making.

One of our favorite veggies is broccoli! I can get them to eat broccoli as long s it has a little oil and parmesan cheese!
