Family Friendly Places to Watch Sports in Chicagoland

It’s about that time when workplace productivity goes out the window and my parenting becomes way more lax and includes more screen time than I would like. Why all these changes in people’s lives nationwide? Because it’s March Madness! And if you love the excitement of college sports, or sports in general, here are some family friendly places to watch sports in Chicagoland.

Buffalo Wild Wings

Multiple locations throughout Chicagoland

Insider tip: Be sure to pick up one of the complimentary tablets for your kids to keep busy while you sit back, relax with a beer, and watch the game on one of their many televisions.

Punch Bowl Social

Chicago and Schaumburg

Insider tip: Every seat in the house has a great view of televisions, whether you book your own bowling lane, hit up the arcade, or try your hand at karaoke.

Bartlett, Edison Park, Fox Lake, Hoffman Estates, Lake in the Hills, Mount Prospect, Schaumburg

Insider tip: As long as they aren’t extremely crowded, your server will give you some pizza dough for your child to play with at the table. Kids also eat free Mondays after 4 p.m.

Rock Bottom Restaurant and Brewery

Chicago, Lombard, Orland Park, Warrenville

Insider tip: Their menu offers a ton of great appetizers that can serve as a great meal for your kiddos if they have a more adventurous palette than traditional kids’ fare.

Yard House

Glenview and Chicago (New City)

Insider tip: Their dessert menu has a ton of delicious choices so I highly recommend that you use a sweet as bribery if need be. Yep, that’s right, sometimes I bribe my kids. I am so not perfect, but whatever. The Yard House has a great kids’ menu with tons of healthy options, so don’t feel bad having a bit of a sweet treat at the end of the meal.

Where are your favorite places to go to watch sports as a family? I would love to add some new options to our old favorites!

I’ve only been to Chicago once but it was beautiful. We have some of these places here in California too so I’ll definitely keep them in mind!

That’s great that you were able to find some really great family friendly places to watch sports. I will have to check these out if I am in the area.

I do love me some Bdubbs, but it can sure get noisy in there for our two littles. I always forget about the tablets for Caleb, though. I think it will be more fun as they get older and since Joel and I are a sports-loving couple, we want to be able to bring the kids with.

I’ll be sure to add these places to my bucket list if I ever get to Chicagoland. We are a sports loving family and I love places that show the games when we’re traveling.

I’ve eaten at Buffalo Wild Wings and The Yard House, both awesome places and I imagine so for March Madness as well. I know nothing about the sport, but I know my husband has some pools going at work and some friends are all about certain teams. I come out during football season. 😉

My 93 year old Nana doesn’t follow basketball but always has a pick in our pool–I highly recommend it as a fun way to get into the madness!

What a great list! I wish I knew of one of these lists for the Dallas area. My husband loves to watch basketball, but we are never sure where to go where we can bring the whole family.
