You know how Linus stayed up incredibly late waiting for the Great Pumpkin to appear on Halloween night? Well, I think I found a pumpkin patch that is so unique Linus would forget all about the toys and treats he is expecting. Jack’s Pumpkin Pop Up is an urban gem nestled in the River West area and the perfect spot to snap ALL THE FALL-THEMED photos your heart desires. Kids don’t like to stand still for photos? No worries since there are still other socially-distant things to do. Check out the Family Friendly Fun at Jack’s Pumpkin Pop Up.
I received free admission to Jack’s Pumpkin Pop Up. All opinions are my own. This post contains affiliate links. If you make a purchase through one of these links, I will earn a small commission at no additional cost to you.
While Jack’s Pumpkin Pop Up may be a bit different this year due to social distancing protocols, it can still be a ton of fun for families if you plan accordingly.
There are no food or drinks allowed (you can purchase treats on your way out), masks need to be worn 24/7 (check out these cute Halloween themed masks perfect for your visit), and you must book tickets in advance.
Here are my top picks for Family Friendly Fun at Jack’s Pumpkin Pop Up, rain OR shine:
Obviously the main attraction of Jack’s Pumpkin Pop Up is that it provides unique and fun colorful Fall-themed backdrops for photos. Whether your child poses in front of a butterfly, marquee letters, in a wagon, or in the pumpkin house, you will undoubtedly score some fun family photos.
Play with Props
There are so many cute Fall-themed vignettes set up throughout Jack’s Pumpkin Pop Up that will undoubtedly be a hit with kids. Don’t miss the red firetruck near the entrance, or the entire area of campers and RVs set up at the back of Jack’s Pumpkin Pop Up. Just be sure that kiddos are wearing masks the entire time and use hand sanitizer after playing with the props.
Get (Figuratively) Lost in the Corn Maze
Jack’s Pumpkin Pop Up is the ONLY corn maze in city limits, so don’t forget to check it out with your family. While it might not be very big, there are fun surprises lurking in every corner and above you (they might just be the BIGGEST skeletons I have EVER seen!).
Swing and Smile
While the swings at Jack’s Pumpkin Pop Up might be a little different than those you might see at a playground, they are still a ton of fun. My favorite? The whimsical one nestled inside a storybook.
Hunt for the Perfect Pumpkin
A take-home pumpkin is included in the price of admission, so go on a family hunt for the PERFECT pumpkin at the patch. Whether you prefer flat, round, orange, yellow, or green, there is something for everyone!
