Date Night at the Weber Grilling Academy

Have you been putting your relationship on the back burner since having kids? Well, first off…you aren’t alone. Secondly, I have a fun and unique idea that will heat up your next date night—The Weber Grilling Academy.

The Weber Grilling Academy hosted us at no charge. All opinions are my own.

You have most likely already experienced the delicious spoils of a Weber grill from either their Midwestern Weber Grill restaurant locations or from a Weber grill in your own backyard. But why not kick it up a notch by combining the two? The Weber Grill Academy hosts two hour long classes that are led by an executive chef who will not only teach you the ins and outs of grilling on a Weber, but also guide you through making (and honestly—devouring!) a delicious multi-course meal.

The Weber Grilling Academy is a custom-designed learning facility dedicated to the art and skill of grilling. Classes cover a wide array of topics, techniques, and menus, so there is an offering to please everyone.

My husband and I recently took part in a “Surf and Turf” completely hands-on grilling class and it was one of the best dates we have had in YEARS. Why? It was a combination of our personable and helpful instructor. Chef Klaus Lotter, the high quality and delicious ingredients (dry aged filet mignon, to-die-for homemade Caesar salad dressing, and the PERFECT seafood marinade just to name a few) and the intimate setting so that all students could ask questions and work 1:1 with the chef throughout the night. My husband and I loved that we were actually learning a skill together and having fun—not to mention the fact that we didn’t have to worry about the dirty dishes.

Some cooking classes can be stressful with chefs delegating every single task (chopping—so much chopping) to students. But Chef Klaus chose the perfect menu so that most of our time was focused on grilling techniques and then enjoying our perfectly grilled produce, seafood, and meat (yes, that’s right—grilled lettuce is my new FAVORITE thing). Learning new techniques empowered us as a couple to talk about new recipes to try at home so that our date night could reignite our family’s weekly meal plans.

Trust me when I tell you to book a babysitter and head to the Weber Grill Academy for your next date night. I mean, we could all use a little extra heat, right?!?!

My husband would love this. We have gone to cooking classes together and have enjoyed them so much! Hubs is a foodie to the core so a Weber class would be a great gift for him. Now all I have to do if see if there is one close to us. Thanks for the idea and your food looks delicious!
