Chicago Restaurants for Moms’ Night Out

The date is circled on the calendar with an obnoxiously bright red pen.  You’ve gone through just about every outfit you own in your head—twice—and found something that makes you feel great and trendy, but not that you’re trying too hard.  Child care is covered and so cab fair to the new Chicago restaurant you are going to try.  Why?  Because it’s FINALLY time for your moms’ night out.

Dust off those heels that have been acquiring dust and make the most out of your free time out and about with your supportive team of mommy friends (and non-mommies, too, because they are the ones who are up to date with what’s hot and what’s not in Chicago while you have been stuck with Elmo and the Bubble Guppies).

I sat down with my city dwelling sister to find out some great spots for cocktails and delicious dishes that are trendy and fun enough to make up for the fact that I don’t go out much.  So here are some of her recommendations (combined with some of mine because I am not ENTIRELY lame).  Oh, and let me point out that in the past month she moved to the suburbs and has a baby on the way so she is going to desperately need this list next year, too!

441 North Clark Street

851 North Ashland Avenue

Oak and Char

217 West Huron Street

Siena Tavern

51 West Kinzie Street

118 West Grand Avenue

Café Baba Reeba

2024 North Halsted

The Boarding House

720 North Wells Street

2656 West Lawrence Avenue

Ada Street

1664 North Ada Street

RPM Italian

As you can see from their websites, these restaurants believe that you eat with your eyes first.  I hope you didn’t read this post on an empty stomach. If you did, fire up “Open Table” and search for a table immediately for your next night out, with either the girls or your main squeeze.

Hope you have some amazing nights out on the town and away from the kids…because you deserve it!  A refreshed and happy Mommy is the best kind.

I always eat with my eyes first so a really great food presentation is appreciated. Also, I post most food items on Instagram so the food must be IG-worthy. 🙂 These restaurants are must-visits!

I was so excited to see Quartino’s on your list! I used to live in the northwest suburbs and my daughter lived downtown Chicago. Every time we went out to eat I’d beg for Quartino’s.

It was one of my pregnancy cravings…my cousin lives near there so I dragged her there ALL THE TIME.

The food in these restaurants looks so delicious. I’m oceans away from Chicago but I’d love a mothers night out with the girls 🙂
