It’s getting to be one of the most MADDENING (but in a good way) times of year—Shamrock shakes are aplenty, kids’ extra-curricular activities start to ramp up, visions of Spring Break dance in our heads, and basketball brackets take over not just your social media feeds, but also the focus in your office and school playground. Not really into basketball but love the thrill of a good competition? Then I’ve got you covered! I’ve teamed up with Chicago Parent to host the Chicago Parent Bracket Battle: City vs. Suburbs Edition to highlight the absolute BEST family-friendly fun in Chicagoland.
How it Works
Similar to the NCAA March Madness Tournament, the team at Chicago Parent and I are creating a tournament that pits the most-popular family activities in both the city and suburbs against each other to determine which family-friendly spot reigns supreme, as voted on by readers.
What kind of family-friendly attractions and business will be included? That’s up to you! We are asking our readers to use their vast knowledge as city and suburban parents to nominate favorite restaurants, museums, parks, stores, play spaces, libraries, etc. so we can come up with 64 tried-and-true family-friendly spots to kick off this year’s edition of the Chicago Parent Bracket Battle.
Once the entries have been tallied, check back here on March 10th to print your own #CPBracketBattle bracket to make your own predictions as to which family-friendly businesses will win this city vs. suburbs showdown.
Then follow along on Instagram via both Chicago Parent and Queen of the Land of Twigs’ N Berries to VOTE and get updates regarding which of your picks are on point and which picks will end up busting your bracket! Voting will take place throughout March and early April, with the final showdown taking place on April 4th.
What To Do
Fill out this form to nominate your FAVORITE family-friendly businesses in both the city and suburbs. Nominations close on March 4th.
Check back on March 10th for the Chicago Parent Bracket Battle: City vs. Suburbs Edition reveal and print out your own bracket to fill out with your personal favorites.
Follow both Queen of the Land of Twigs ‘n Berries and Chicago Parent on Instagram and VOTE. There will be six rounds, starting on March 13th and ending with the final city vs. suburbs battle on April 4th.
I’m thrilled to be able to share the MADNESS of the season with so many of my fellow Chicagoland parents and I can’t wait to see if anyone comes up with the PERFECT #CPBracketBattle bracket! Having a brain fart? You can check out these lists of suburban and city based fun to help inspire you.
